All of us know that Jamuna Television has become one of the most famous privately-owned Bangladeshi satellite and cable news channels. It is also the most famous current affairs television channel.
As per information, the channel is owned by the Jamuna Group and was founded by the company’s founder and former chairman, Nurul Islam Babu in 2014. Its headquarters are located in the Jamuna Future Park Complex at Progoti Shoroni in Baridhara.
History
It is surprising to know that Jamuna Television gained a NOC certificate for the channel to run for five years, in 2002. The certificate was expired then. The original channel started test broadcasting on October 15, 2009. On November 19, the BTRC shut the channel down after the channel was found broadcasting illegally.
Later on July 29, 2013, the channel was again granted a license to relaunch. As per information, the Jamuna Channel was launched on April 5, 2014. In December 2018, some journalists working for Jamuna Television were attacked in the Nawabganj Upazila of Dhaka.\
